Driver's License office is located at 918 Court St. in Adel, Iowa. Office hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday.
All types of transactions will be handled from 8 AM to 4 PM each day. After 4 PM only simple renewals will be processed.
Simple renewals are any transactions when you have your Iowa driver's license or non-operator ID in your possession and no other documents are required.
Knowledge tests are available from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday thru Friday. All drive tests are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment please call 515-993-6992.

Veteran Designation on your Drivers License
Honorably discharged veterans are eligible to have a "Veteran" designation placed on their driver's license (DL) or nonoperator identification (ID) card at the time the card is first issued or upon renewal of an existing card.
To be authorized to get the veteran designation placed on your DL or ID card, you must first present a copy of your DD 214 or applicable discharge document to your county Veterans Affairs office. That office will confirm your veteran status and complete the required Iowa DOT application form.
To expedite the authorization procee, you can also bring a completed Iowa DOT application form with you to the county VA office, along with your DD 214.
