Entitled persons include the person named on the record or that person's spouse, children, legal parents, grandparents, grandchildren, siblings, or legal representative or guardian. A photo ID including signature must be provided.

If the record is not located, the applicant receives a notification to that affect. The $20.00 fee is retained for the search. Fees are payable by cash, check or money order made out to "Dallas County Recorder". You may pay with credit/debit card if you physically come into the office. There is additional processing fee to use a credit/debit card. If applying through the mail you must include a copy of your US ID or Driver’s License along with having your signature notarized.
