History of the Dallas County Attorney




Wayne M. Reisetter is the Dallas County Attorney.  Wayne graduated from Northeast Missouri State University in 1976 with an B.S. degree in Law Enforcement.  He served as a police officer for the Kirksville, Missouri Police Department, and the Urbandale, Iowa Police Department.

In 1989, he graduated from Drake University Law School  with honors and was admitted to the Iowa Bar in January 1990. He commenced private practice, subsequently serving as an assistant Dallas County attorney until December, 1998.

Wayne was elected to office and assumed the responsibilities of County Attorney in January 1999 and was re-elected in  2002, 2006,  2010 and 2014. He was President of the Iowa County Attorneys Association in 2008, and is currently a member of the Board of the Iowa County Attorneys Association.

Wayne served as a reserve military officer in the Iowa National Guard and US Army Reserve, retiring from that post in 2013.
