The following rules have been adopted by the Dallas County Conservation Board to provide for the
security and well-being of park users and to protect and preserve our park areas.
It is unlawful for a person to commit any of the following acts:Man-made and Natural Resources
Destroying, injuring, defacing, removing, or altering public property, including constructed facilities, natural formations, historical and archaeological features and vegetative growth, without having obtained written permission.
Cutting or gathering of trees or parts of trees
and/or removal of wood from project lands without approval. Digging or leveling of the ground or construction of any structure without written permission.
Prohibited operation and/or parking of a vehicle off roadway or through, around or beyond a restrictive barricade, fence or traffic control barrier. Operating a vehicle in a careless, negligent, or reckless manner so as to endanger any person, project property or environmental feature.
Improper disposal of garbage, trash, rubbish, litter, or any other waste. Bringing any material onto a project for the purpose of disposal without written permission.
Parking vehicle so as to block traffic flow, parking in violation of posted restrictions or so as to endanger any person, project property, or environmental feature, or parking in spaces posted as reserved for physically disabled persons.
Camping and Picnicking
Camping in a prohibited area or reserving a campsite without written permission. Failure to maintain a clean campsite or picnic area or to remove personal equipment, trash or litter upon departure. Camp at any one park for a period longer than 14 days during any 30 consecutive day period.
Failing to observe visiting hours or entering a closed area or using an area contrary to posted restriction.
Hunting, Fishing, Trapping, Firearms
Hunting, fishing or trapping in a prohibited area. Possessing a loaded firearm, ammunition, projectile firing device, bow and arrow, cross bow, or explosive of any kind except as authorized.
Kindling a fire at a location other than a designated area. Failing to confine a fire in a fireplace, grill, or other facility designed for this purpose. Leaving a fire unattended or failing to completely extinguish a fire prior to departure.
Bringing a dog, cat or other pet into a developed recreation area unless penned, caged, or on a leash under 6 feet in length or otherwise under physical restraint at all times or having any animal or pet in a swimming beach area or sanitary facility. Allowing an animal to impede or restrict the use of lands or waters by the public.
Bringing or allowing horses, cattle, or other livestock in camping, picnic, swimming, or other undesignated recreational areas. Allowing livestock on project lands or failing to remove livestock when requested.
Creating excessive noise in a public use area between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. which unreasonably disturbs another person.
Refusing or failing to comply with the terms or conditions of a permit or failure to pay recreation use fees.
Interfering with a Government employee in the conduct of official duties or failing to comply with a lawful order directed by a Government employee in the performance of official duties or to provide a correct name, address or other identification
