P48 & F59 Paving Update

Paving Update 10-9-14

Post Date:10/09/2014 1:56 PM

Peterson Contractors has completed all of their removal and crushing of the old pavement along the project.  They have been working on preparing slopes and ditches along F59 for seeding.  They should be have F59 done early next week pending any further weather delays.  After completing F59, they will start at the north end of P48 and continue to finish slopes and ditches.

Dallas County has met with Henningsen Construction several times over the past few weeks about scheduling of paving operations.  For the past week or so, they have been preparing their asphalt plant in Redfield.  Tomorrow their plant should be set up, and will then be calibrated.  The new pavement will be built in 3 separate layers.  Paving of the base layer will begin in Dexter, and will be constructed one lane at a time.  The road will be graded to prepare for paving in Dexter over the next few days.  As of today, we expect that paving is likely to start Saturday, however that may change depending how quickly plant calibration and road preparation takes place.

While there will be one lane of rock open during the base layer, there will be very heavy truck traffic and lots of construction activities.  Residents should avoid any travel near the paving operations.  Residents can also expect high truck traffic around the plant site in Redfield.  Please be cautious of workers and construction vehicles.
