P48 & F59 Paving Project Update
The Dallas County Road Department met with Henningsen Construction and Peterson Contractors to discuss the remaining schedule for the paving project. Peterson Contractors plans to complete the removal and crushing portion of the project about the middle of this week. They then plan to work on some of the remaining grading until paving operations begin.
Henningsen Construction plans to begin paving in the first full week of October. They will need about 4 weeks worth of dry weather to complete all of the paving. At this point, our goal is to finish paving at the end of October, or early in November. Once paving is complete, there will still be shouldering and pavement marking operations to take place. The road will remain closed to through traffic until all construction is complete.
As with the activities of the project so far, weather plays an important role in the progress of the project. Weather conditions may continue to change our expected schedule. In such cases, we will continue to work with our contractors to work towards a safe and reliable road over the winter. We understand that delays due to weather are frustrating, and that residents have dealt with inconveniences due to the construction. Your patience and cooperation with the project so far has been appreciated.
