Join us, at 6:30 a.m., to observe the Equinox sunrise on the astronomical clock at Hanging Rock. Learn about the clock, its history and pause to consider the celestial waltz of the seasons as we celebrate this wild day.

Few of Dallas County’s residents will recognize that this day is the Spring Equinox. Fewer yet, will stand in a prairie, on a clock built of rocks, and observe the sunset celebrating the turning of the seasons. If you feel the need to slow down the pace of your life and connect the meter of your life not to a piece of machinery but to the celestial waltz of the Earth and Sun, join us. DCCB’s astronomical clock which is a reconstruction of the one placed here by First Nation peoples long before Redfield and Hanging Rock were names on the landscape. Join us for a history lesson of time, and a celebration of spring’s arrival. Registration is required for this program.
